It is very rare to be able to replicate or even improve on a previously wonderful travel experience. That didn’t stop Big Ben, one of the owners of the Secrets nightclub, restaurant, and hotel in Soi 14 off Walking Street, from putting together a crew to go to Koh Chang for two days for a photo shoot with the aim of at least equalling the experience of a similar shutterbug extravaganza a year earlier on Koh Samet.
The Koh Chang expedition assembled in the Secrets bar between 7:30 and 8:00am, a time not normally on the radar of persons engaged in professions nocturnal, unless they happen to be getting home at that ridiculous hour.
The convoy consisted of two vehicles and 13 people: four girls, photographer ‘Hopalong’ Dave, mine host Ben, and his girlfriend Bee in a large four-wheel drive; and four girls, Hah-Sip -the nickname of the English graphic designer for Pattaya by Night magazine- and this writer, in a Toyota wagon emblazoned with Secrets livery. Imagine a bordello on wheels and you’ll be on the right track.
